Annospace is a social reading and annotation experiment for documents. It was also my first Flex application.
It is different from other "sticky note" and highlighter type solutions
in that annotations are hierarchical and scoped to whole words,
phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters. The idea is to prevent
the chaos of arbitrary comments and support hundreds of comments in a
document in a manageable, organized way.
It is built using Flex and Python and runs on Google App Engine. The documents are stored in Amazon S3.

Sybase
I built two GIS-type applications. The
first is a map of the world showing the
Sybase offices (I work for Sybase). The
second is a proof of concept for a mobile app to track vehicles. For this
one, I used the UNC street map and put
in fictional buildings and bus routes.
Tools used:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Flex
- Adobe Flash
- Sybase ASE (for the world database)
- Sybase ASA (for the mobile database)
