TEK Systems 1201 Edwards Mills Rd Ste 201, Raleigh

Join RDAUG in April for the double edged sword of design and programming!
Dave Powell of the Carolina Adobe User Group out of UNC will give present on how you as a developer can design good looking web sites and applications.
Ben Farrell will present on using Flash to help design and skin Flex applications.
So if you're a programmer - come for both!  If you're a designer, come for Ben's presentation to learn how to work with your woefully unartistic Flex team - and stay for Dave's presentation if only to laugh at all the programmers who can't draw a button in photoshop.

6:30 Tuesday, March 18th

TEK Systems 1201 Edwards Mills Rd Ste 201, Raleigh

Come to the March meeting to hear about combining the power of both Flex, PHP, and Test Driven Development!
Presenter Eric Coker has been going on about his awesome PHP services for Flex.  Now, we can see what he's talking about, and learn how we can leverage PHP in our Flex pojects.
And then, presenter John Scalco will tell us all about Test Driven Development in Flex.  He'll explain what unit testing is, and show us how to set up Flex Unit in Adobe Flex Builder.
We'll also be opening up the floor to discussing RDAUG things like how to make our online presence better, and how we can continue with our homework/learning sessions.
See you then!

At the RDAUG launch this Monday evening, we'll be having a few presentations including some from our members.  We'll be kicking things off with a keynote video from Adobe's Kevin Lynch, and then I'll be showing off some AIR apps. We'll also be giving out some great prizes: a copy of Flex 3, a Playstation Portable, some awesome AIR posters and t-shirts, and some AIR stickers. We'll have some pizza, and talk, and presentations. Flex 3/AIR Pre-release with Ben Forta

on Jan 23 in Meetings

Thanks to everyone who came out to this event! The meeting was a collaboration between RDAUG, the Triangle Area Coldfusion User Group, the Carolina Adobe User Group, and the newly formed Triangle User Experience. In preparation for a soon to be released 3rd version of Adobe Flex and the 1st version of the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), Ben Forta joined us in the Triangle on the NC leg of the Flex 3 / AIR Pre-Release tour. Ben is Adobe's Senior Technical Evangelist, and as always, gave a great presentation.

Ben started with the official presentation slides, and veered off in whatever directions the audience wanted. It was a lively and somewhat sarcastic crowd as we approached the subject of pricing and release dates as Ben politely answered our question about when Flex will be released - stating only:

"Wouldn't it be a shame if your trials ran out before the product was released?";

The crowd was big too - looking to be around 120 attendees. So thanks everyone for making another Triangle stop on Adobe's tour schedule a no-brainer.
