We do this by sharing works of art, beautiful music, walks in the park and other richly diverse, aesthetic experiences. In fact, Baker’s research indicates that one of the most valuable things a parent can do for a struggling reader is teach him or her that reading is not just useful, but enjoyable. By simply providing reading materials, reading in front of, and reading to their child, parents are able to accomplish this.
